Healthcare in Manitoba: What newcomers need to know

Manitoba Health Card requires 3 months of residency before coverage begins. Register immediately upon arrival at a Manitoba Health office or online. Manitoba Health covers doctor visits, hospital care, and most diagnostic services. Manitoba Drug Benefits Program provides coverage for residents who qualify based on income. Dental care is not covered under provincial health — the federal Dental Care Plan applies to uninsured Manitobans under $90,000 household income.
