PEI Health PEI has a 3-month waiting period for most newcomers. Register at Health PEI offices in Charlottetown or Summerside. Health PEI covers doctor visits, hospital care, and most diagnostic tests. PEI Seniors Pharmacare and PEI Pharmacare cover prescription drugs for qualifying residents. Dental care is not covered provincially. The federal Canadian Dental Care Plan applies to uninsured PEI residents.
